Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García has declared that winning the UEFA Champions League is his primary target for the 2026-27 season.

Fresh off winning the World Cup 2026 with Spain, García, who was also part of the Barca side that secured La Liga and the Supercopa de España, has set his sights firmly on club football’s top trophy.

He noted that obsessing over the title is unhelpful, but strong desire and belief remain essential.

“It’s my dream this season to win the Champions League. I’ve been at Barca for a year now, we won LaLiga, the Super Cup, and now I’ve won the World Cup with Spain.

“My goal for 26/27 is the Champions League, which is the top trophy at club level. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Garcia also stressed that Barcelona must strike the right balance between ambition and pressure.

“It has to be somewhere in the middle. Becoming obsessed isn’t good because the negative effect can be very big if you don’t achieve the objective,” he explained.

“But we have a lot of confidence that we can do it.

“Those are things that don’t depend on us. There are many situations we don’t know about, and it would be a mistake to speak without knowing.

“Personally, I have a lot of confidence in Deco and his sporting department. We have a very competitive squad, and I’ m sure they’ll build the best team possible.”
